Privacy Notice: Jackson County Records

This Privacy Notice describes how Jackson County Busted Mugshots handles information connected with its pages, search widgets, contact messages, cookies, analytics, advertising, and outbound links. The resource is private and does not host the Sheriff’s roster, booking photos, arrest files, or court records. Using the pages means accepting the practices described here, subject to any rights provided by applicable law.

Effective date: August 21, 2026

Information You Send

Search entries

When a visitor enters a name or state into a search widget, those entries are sent to the third-party provider that operates the search service. Jackson County Busted Mugshots does not store or maintain a separate log of those typed search terms on its own pages. The provider’s privacy notice and terms control after the request leaves the page.

Messages and contact details

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, we keep the message and the reply details long enough to answer, document the exchange, and handle a related request. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless the sender asks us to, a service provider needs them to operate the contact channel, or disclosure is legally required.

Technical Information

When a browser loads a page, ordinary technical data may be received through hosting, security, analytics, or advertising services. That information can include:

  • IP address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages visited and time spent on each;
  • referring page or site, if available;
  • timestamps and basic request details.

Cookies and similar tools

Cookies or similar technologies may help us understand how visitors use the pages, keep a session working, measure traffic, or support advertising. Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Some features may work differently when those tools are disabled.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

  • keep the pages available and responsive;
  • route a search request to the selected partner service;
  • see which sections are useful to readers;
  • find, prevent, and repair technical or security problems;
  • display advertising that may be relevant to a visitor.

We do not use this resource to create or maintain a government custody file. Jackson County Sheriff, city police, court, IDOC, BOP, and ICE records remain with the agencies that operate them.

Other Websites and Links

The pages link to the Jackson County Sheriff, jail and FOIA materials, city police departments, Judici, the Circuit Clerk, Illinois agencies, federal locators, local news, and third-party tools. Once a visitor clicks an outbound link, that organization’s privacy notice controls. We do not control its collection, retention, security, pricing, uptime, or response to a records request.

Some advertising partners may use their own technologies to measure activity across sites or deliver targeted ads. Those practices occur on their systems under their own policies.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell contact messages as a mailing list. Depending on how a visitor uses the pages, information may be received by:

  • the search partner that processes a submitted query;
  • analytics and hosting providers that measure or secure page traffic;
  • advertising networks and their service partners;
  • law-enforcement or government bodies that present a valid legal order or other lawful demand.

Service providers receive only the information needed for their stated function, subject to their own contracts and notices where applicable.

Security Practices

Reasonable administrative, technical, and operational steps are used to protect information under our control. No internet-connected service is completely secure, and we cannot promise that a transmission or stored message will never be accessed improperly.

Visitors Under 18

The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us through Contacts and ask that the material be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Your Privacy Requests

Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, a person may ask us to:

  • provide a copy of personal information we hold;
  • correct an inaccurate contact detail;
  • delete information that no longer needs to be kept;
  • limit or opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice.

Send a clear request through Contacts. We may need enough information to locate the message or account and to prevent a request from exposing someone else’s data. Requests about a Sheriff, police, jail, court, IDOC, BOP, ICE, or news record must go to that organization.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this Privacy Notice when the resource, providers, or legal requirements change. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised notice applies to future activity.
